Welcome To Central Pennsylvania Horseman's Association (C.P.H.A)

C.P.H.A. is operated & conducted at all time as a Non-Profit organization.  Each exhibitor and/or owner must be knowledgeable of and abide by all C.P.H.A. rules and regulations.


     Most of our shows are Paint Horse PAC Approved.
At least 50% payback at most sponsored clubs, Other Sponsored club have at least 75% payback in Non-Trophy Classes.


      All animals are to be judged according to breed type in all classes.
 
         
Junior exhibitors 18 yrs old & under will not be permitted to show a stallion in any classes or handle a stallion on the ground the day of the show.
    All exhibitors and mount exhibitors must be properly attired for Western, Engilsh, and Timed Events or will not be judged. No sneakers, Halter top, T-Shirts or shorts are permitted to be worn in any classes unless otherwise stated in the class rules. 


        Exhibitors must wait to the end of the show to apporch the Judge. The Judge's decision in Final in all classes.
         Any exhibitor may be dismissed from the ring or grounds at the discretion of the Judge or C.P.H.A. show committee for; Any act of discourtesy or disrespct shown to the judge or any show official; An uncontrollable or unruly animals; Undue or unnecessary abuse to animals; Endfangerment of spectaors or other exhibitors, The accused may be barred from any or all future C.P.H.A. pointed shows.

 Points will be awarded as follows; 1st Place- 7 point - 2nd Place - 6 point - 3rd Place- 5 points - 4th Place- 4 points - 5th Place - 3 points - 6th Place- 2 point. Points will follow the Exhibitor/Rider/Horse combination in all  classes Exhibitor/Rider will be permitted one change of horse or pony during the show season upon presentation of a Verterinaran's Certificate stating that the animal cannot be shwn. Point will then follow the new horse or pony/ rider. Exhibitor combination. The cost to sign up for C.P.H.A. Points is .00 & you must be a member of a sponsored saddle club.  Exhibitor/Rider/Horse  must show atleast  {3} C.P.H.A. pointed show to be eligible for year-end awards. Exhibitor/Rider/Horse must show in atleast {3} pointed shows for each class to be eligible for year-end placings in that class { must place at least once {1} in that class t qualiify for year-end awards}

Bosal or snaffle bit with 2 hands on the reins may be used on ALL junior animals { 5yrs & Under} in all classes with proper proof of age. Proper proof of age shal be considered Registration Papers or Veterinarian's Certificate. Western Riders shall use shanked bit with 1 hand on the reins onm all other animals over 5yr.

Age of the horse shall be computed on the basis of a calendar year starting January 1st of te year foaled. Age of the exhibitor on January 1st will carry through the entire year.

In all equitation/horsemanship classes exhibitor may be asked to perform a pattern. The Judge's option to require exhibitor to back his/her horse or pony or to extend any gaits in any classes. Any riding class with more then 25 entries must be split.13 & Under classes will be split at 12 entries.

 

These are just some of the C.P.H.A. Rules & regulations. Rule books may be picked up at any C.P.H.A. show during the year. We hope to see everyone at the C.P.H.A. shows & have a safe & enjoyable show season from the C.P.H.A. Officers & Board Members!
